There is a right way and a wrong way to lose weight:

While reading a variety of health posts online, something has been bothering me lately. These insane claims of losing 10 pounds in two weeks by “fasting for success” or “entirely eliminating carbs”. It is astounding to me that health leaders promote this approach. Will these quick approaches help you lose weight? Most likely, yes. Will you keep that weight off? Sadly, no. In fact, you will most likely put the weight back on along with some additional pounds that were not there to begin with. Starving your body is not the solution. A better approach: It’s really a simple equation – Find an activity that you enjoy and start eating well. This balance will help you achieve your goals. We all want instant gratification, but this one you will have to wait for and work toward. Tips: -Become better at reading nutrition labels. Education is key! -Eat well. This does not mean low fat, fat free or gluten free. Steer clear of these foods. -Don’t fast or starve yourself. You will not have energy and you will be quite cranky. -Find a workout partner. If you need motivation, find a friend to share your goals with. Sign up for a group activity class and enjoy this time! -Don’t give in to the muffin monsters. When in an office environment, there is always someone baking something. You don’t have to accept every time. -Work on eating the meals that make you feel best. Simply becoming more aware of these feel good meals is the first step. -Don’t count every calorie, just know what makes you feel good and eliminate the...
